THE FAs
Each FML Game World begins with preset domestic FAs that offer competition, community (via dedicated 'FA chatrooms) and a key income source. Games you play in FAs are also play a big part in determining your club's reputation 'level'.
All you need do is choose an FA - you will then be allocated to competitions by FA Organisers. Competitions run over a season, which consist of 28 days of real time. 23 days of competitive play occur each month, with the rest given over to pre-season.
WHICH FA?
There’s a great variety of FAs waiting to be won, most with their own twist on the standard FA experience. Here’s a summary:
-
Do you want a Premier FA experience? If so, the Classic, Traditional and Vintage FAs (pic below) are for you – modelled on the English Premier League, teams will have 38 games per season.
-
Are you used to getting your FML hit in fits and bursts? In that case, the Open and General FAs will be perfect – the Home Playing Rights system lets you play the away team’s Offline Manager up to 5 days ahead of match deadline date, meaning you can binge on several hours of games in a single session!
-
For those who love their night-time FML - and like their matches Live - the Dugout FA will have instant appeal. In this FAs’ 16-team leagues, you’ll play your opponents 4 times – meaning every tie is part of a mini-marathon! The max. offline match % is low, and the playtime focussed on the evening hours.
-
The Extra Time FA is the final piece of the puzzle, and is a great one for those who like multiple bites of the cherry: Its 16-team leagues run 3 times a season, so your side’s next title-winning opportunity will forever be just around the corner!
QUALIFYING - Qualifying will last for the first 3 seasons of a new gameworld’s FAs:
Your Season 1 performance will dictate which of 2 tiers you are in for Season 2, whilst Season 2 will determine which of 3 tiers you’ll be in for Season 3. In this season your league position will decide which of 6 divisions within the final FA structure you begin Season 4 in.

PRIZE MONEY - Prize money is earned during the season but only paid out over the following season, in four weekly payments.
For the first season, since no prize money has been earned previously, everyone receives the same amount - 400k - which is spread over four weekly payments. This will already be shown in your projection at game start (see 'Projection and Prize Money' HERE for more details).
PLAY TIME – Only the DFA has a set playtime, meaning you're expected to be online during its set hours. This should mean a high guarantee of Live matches in this FA as you're online at the same time as opposition.
All other FA playtimes are 24 hours, with rights to play Offline Matches if games are unresolved at their deadline dates awarded at the point in the day you and your opponent are calculated to have cumulatively spent most time online.
PLAY INTENSITY – Whether you play FML casually, moderately, or intensely, you will find an FA to suit your requirements. Light and medium intensity FAs require an average of two games a day over a season, with high intensity FAs requiring three or four.
Note that medium and high level FAs have an 'Offline %' field showing on their profile pages - this relates to how many games members are expected to play live (failure to meet this % in successive seasons can result in removal to a lighter intensity FA).
| Name | Play Time | Intensity |
| DFA | 19:00 - 01:00 | Medium-High |
| CFA/VFA/TFA | 24 Hours | Medium |
| OFA/GFA | 24 Hours | Light |
| EFA | 24 Hours | High |
LATECOMERS - Most FAs require members to be present at season start in order for allocation to competitions to occur. If you join a GameWorld mid-season, however, the Reception Football Association is for you - this offers leagues that kick off at staggerred periods throughout a season, giving your new team the option of early games and a modest amount of prize money. You should join a regular FA at the end of the season.
